Just-A-Tho't On US Government

Congress has just blown my mind again!  When will I ever cease to be surprised?  The will of the few have over-ridden the will of the many in congress as well as the courts.  Fourteen centrists (7 republicans and 7 democrats) in the senate made a secret pact to give three judicial nominees an "up or down" vote, but refuse to allow a majority approval for a rules change on the filibuster regarding judicial nominees.

Why is this such an outrage?  Because the president now must choose judicial candidates who can survive a 60% vote instead of the constitutional requirement for 51%.  The people want the rules changed.  The liberals of both parties, however, don't want to lose their power, even if it means crippling the government.  Their corruption demands a public outcry.  Sen.. John McCain (R-AZ) leads the way and is seeking a presidential nomination.  He just lost my vote.  Sen.. Bill Frist may also be seeking a bid - and he has my vote because he stands to do what is right in my opinion.

Some may say that I am using my pulpit for political purposes.  I am not.  This is a private website, and I, as an American Citizen, am entitled to free speech.  Besides, most folks in my church don't even read this blog, so who am I really influencing?  I am simply expressing my personal frustration toward this country's government and their inordinate ability to misrepresent me.  The only ones more experienced at misrepresentation are those in the media establishment (another fish to fry later).

For now, suffice it to say, my tho'ts of our country's senate are not too high right now.  Hats off to those who fought so valiantly for what's right.  It's time for some serious work to be done, however, to rid our immoral and unethical senatorial representatives who care less for their constituents and more for themselves.

    And so..........The Filibustering begins.
In the words of Bill Frist........if it looks like a filibuster and quacks like a filibuster then it's a filibuster.
