Bible Reading: (2 Corinthians 6:17) Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
Today is 9/11 - a day that will NEVER be forgotten in my mind. It is a day like no other. It is a day when my nation, my way of life, my faith, and my citizenry was attacked by a group of death-dealing, suicidal radicals. They were Muslims. They were "believers" in their own faith. They gave everything for what they believed in.
The world cries out for something different. The Lord is looking for something different. When the world sees it, they call it radical. When God sees it, He calls it faith. It is being separate from the world. In means having a different perspective, purpose, procedure, and priority than the politically correct crowd. It does not cave in to peer pressure, but stands in opposition to it. It does not march with the band, but follows a different drummer. It is being "God's man" - and not being "his own man." Everyone sees that "being different" is not the aim; "being godly" is.
That is the difference between "radical" Christianity and "radical" Islam. Being God's man means doing good, and not evil. Murder, mayhem, and slaughter of innocent people is NOT godly. But it may mean that there is a time to defend one's country, one's faith, or what have you. Our country has been attacked, and our government must protect our citizenry. The Christian has a great God who will protect Him. Let the Christian stand in allegiance, obedience, and patience as He awaits orders from on High.
We are to be walking worthy of the name of Jesus Christ. That is a different goal than Islam. It is a different approach than Islam. We serve a different God than Islam - for ours is a loving, redeeming Lord. God rewards those who convert from faith, not fear. He does not kill to force a confession, but lives to create a transformation. We who are His must be a different people, a separate and holy people, and we must be sure to live so distinctly different that the whole world will recognize its uniqueness and so give glory to our Lord for it.
