Looking Forward

"The things which are not seen." -

2Co_4:18

We live in a world that looks to the here and now, forgetting that there is also a future and a past. Our society lives for the convenience of the moment - but we, who believe in Jesus Christ, look forward to what lies ahead. The goal is before us - the crown of life. Great peace and rest in Heaven, the glory of the saints are all things which are not yet seen. We anticipate the shedding of sin and this sinful body, yearning for the presence of Christ who will welcome and embrace us when we arrive. Fear will be extinguished once and for all, and sorrow will be no more. Discouragement will be destroyed, and the inheritance will be ours. Yes, for us, the future seems to hold all we desire - and it is yet unseen, but by faith, knowing it is ours, we press on, however wearily.

We should be delighting in this blessed hope, and certain refuge. For as sure as we are of the world's end, we know that ours is eternity. We are definitely a unique and privileged people. Blessed is our God and Savior - for He has secured all of this for us!
