WHO CAN RIGHTLY JUDGE ME?

Romans 2:1-2

Judgmentalism.  That's a word that many like to use against Christians these days.  I suppose that's fair.  The author of Romans, the Apostle Paul, was writing to Christians in Rome.  But this particular passage is written to mankind (O man, whoever you are who judge).  Therefore, it is not just Christians who judge, but non-Christians as well.  So, be careful before you use the term "judgmental" as a condemnation of Christians, lest you also be found guilty of the same.

Which brings me to this thought: As a Christian, I should be very careful about judging others.  This is not to excuse their sins.  It is, rather, that I should not judge one's motives.  What man can know another man's heart but the man himself? Therefore, if I judge anyone accurately, I must judge myself.  But I fall short of even being able to judge myself.  My own heart will likely deceive me.
Jeremiah 17:9 (NKJV)  "The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?"
I must rely on the judgment of God.  That is rendered in the Word of God.  The Judgment of God is according to truth.  There is not even a shade of variance with God.  His judgment is fair, equitable, and applied to all.  God is no respecter of persons and does not cut any corners for the social, economic, or intellectual class of person.  Fortunately, I need not worry about another's standing quite as much as I must be certain of my own before God.  And so I say, like King David,
Psalm 139:23-24 (NKJV) 23  Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; 24  And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.

"I am open, O Lord, for you to search me and test me.  You alone know my heart.  Where I have gone astray, restore me to Your Righteous way."

And that is "Just A Thought" for today!  May you be blessed as you walk in the counsel of the Lord today.
