Thots on Sex Ed

Our nation is divided down the same lines as usual over the issue of sex ed.  Like every other issue (abortion, euthanasia, stem-cell research, homosexuality, media decency, evolution theory, etc.) the liberals cry out with hatred and idiotic slander against those who teach "abstinence only" as the safest form of STD prevention, birth-control, and marital happiness.  In an article entitled "Sex Ed Group Praises Government Suspension of Funds for Abstinence-Only Education," a group called Sexuality Information and Education Council of the U.S. (SIECUS) praised the Health and Human Services for withholding funds from a faith-based organization which teaches abstinence only to teens.

It seems to me to be absolutely ridiculous to penalize our nation's teens by placing them into a situation where they are getting encouragement to practice what will harm them.  It is like telling them that Russian Roulette is not only safe if you only use one bullet in the revolver, but fun to play.  And since so many are playing it, we better silence those who tell you that it is deadly.  Only one in six attempts may result in death (since there are only six chambers in a standard revolver).  Their line is paramount to stupidity in that they want to stop people of faith from telling the kids that the only sure way to safety is to never pick up the revolver in the first place and to stop that message because it comes from people of faith, not because it has merit, truth, and substance.  "Because it comes from people of faith, it must only be promoting religion - and federal funds to these people is federal promotion of religion."  Whatever happened to common sense?

The religion of Christianity is not a religion of morals.  No one gets to heaven by living a moral life.  One gets to go to heaven based on the work of Christ Jesus and one's relationship to Him.  This is NOT the message of "Abstinence Only" sex education.  When will America realize this and start looking at the truth?  I believe that will only happen when people are willing to break out of their selfish mentality and begin to care about others.  Any comments?
