Thots On American Persecution

No, the title does not mean Americans persecuting other nations, but Americans persecuting Christians.  Recently enacted bills demonstrate a violence to the church, to faith, and to people of faith.  Congress and the courts have joined forces with wealthy liberal organizations such as the ACLU and MoveOn.org to silence the Christian voice in America, and they do so secretly.  The liberal media establishment will not report it, either.  I wonder if they fear the Christian voice, too, and don't want us to know what they are doing?

What are these actions, bills, or what have you?
  1. A Judge in California has sided with Michael Newdow and the ACLU and declared the Pledge of Allegiance to be "unconstitutional."  See my earlier post on this one.
  2. The House of Representatives has passed a bill with a "hate crimes" attachment which declares speech of any sort, be it thought, writing, or public speech decrying the evils of homosexuality or any other "behavior" to be a "hate crime."  This would effectively put pulpits across the country at risk of imprisoning preachers for preaching the Bible.  It has been done in Canada already.  This bill was not reported through the liberal press, was not the primary issue of the bill that passed (which was to help protect children), but added on like so many pork spending projects congress passes.
