"Foul" cries the liberals and Democrats and all who have a social agenda they want to push on our country when Christians partner together to oppose their plans. They believe that the way to force the issue is to silence the opposition. They are right. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. That's why Christians need to stand together on all issues that are in direct opposition to the teachings of the Scriptures.
But that's where the godless have the advantage - their numbers include many in the Christian sector. If Christians do not agree about the teachings of the Bible, so how will they agree about the Godly stand on social issues? I'm not trying to get anyone to doubt their Bible. Quite the contrary. I'm calling on all who call on the name of Jesus to get back to genuine Bible study and start believing it - and the proper interpretations will sort themselves out, believers will come together, and then we can once again as a nation stand on the Truth of the Eternal Word of God.
The problem is that so many so-called Christians are either living contrary to the Scriptures, or they are simply ignoring them altogether in order to come up with their unbelieving interpretations. If one cannot trust the basic teachings of Scripture concerning the person and work of Christ (that He is all God and all Man, born of a virgin, died and resurrected three days later, etc.) then one cannot trust the basic teachings of Scripture concerning eternity or morality. Why bother with the Bible at all? And there is where these folks are found in the camp of the Godless! Their beliefs about the Bible are more in line with the Godless than with the Godly - and they mock those of faith in the Scriptures. So I challenge you to study your Bible better, more often, and with more faith - for nothing has EVER disproved it.
Christians can shine brightly if we will all light our lives with the teachings of the Bible, the power of the Lord, and the joy of His Salvation! Our country CAN return to God if true believers will stand together against the doubters, skeptics, and social re-organizers of our day.
