Faith is trusting. Faith itself is useless. What counts is the object of our faith (trust).
Some think that it is a true-ism that "it doesn't matter what you believe, as long as you are sincere." But can you be sincerely wrong? Of course. For example, suppose you are taking medicine for a headache. Just because you sincerely believe that pill to be an aspirin doesn't make it so. It might be a pill for curing toe-nail fungus. Won't do much for your headache. You'd be sincerely wrong.
Spiritual truths are not based on OUR beliefs, but on reality. WE don't determine that reality - GOD DOES - whether you believe that or not. You might sincerely disagree with me, but one day you'll meet God and KNOW whether your opinion was correct or not. You won't be able to return to tell others, but you'll know. That's a fact.
So back to the topic - what counts is the object of our faith. What is the object of YOUR faith? Better yet, WHO is the object of your faith. If you stand in opposition to the Bible, Christianity, etc., let me ask you to examine the object of your faith, and how does it provide you with eternal peace and unity with the God of Heaven? How does the object of your faith do for you what Jesus Christ does for the Christian - namely pay for your sins, grant eternal life, and offer a genuine spiritual transformation of nature? Is the object of your faith as reliable and timeless as the God of the Bible?
Too many people these days do not consider the claims of Christ with an honest evaluation. Too many people do not consider the power of Christ or Christ as the object of their faith. Too many trust their own works, deeds, and ability to "live a good life" as the means to eternal life. Christianity is not a faith of religion, but a faith (trust) of relationship.
