Thots on the Pledge of Allegiance

California and Michael Newdow have done it again.  CNS News Senior editor Melanie Hunter reports in her article entitled, "Judge Rules Pledge of Allegiance Unconstitutional" that the assault on our nation's faith and our nations heritage is again in full swing.  There's very little for me to say that is not already said in the article, but I thought you need to be aware of what's happening.

As Christians, as Americans, and as humans, we should see that the ramifications for rejecting the notion that we are one nation under God are serious.  No nation that has rejected the Lord has survived without abject poverty before finally falling all together.  But that is what Michael Newdow is trying to lead our country to do - disavow ourselves from the Lord, deny that we are a nation by His design, and take all the credit and glory for being a free country for ourselves leaving none to God.  It is a lie that judicial activists have bought into.  It is a lie that Humanist Organizations have bought into.  It is a lie that Science has bought into.  And it will bring us down.

I'm amazed at how the "Law" of our land can be so perverted as to be forced to deny truth - how can there be justice where there is no truth?

Our President has called for a national Day of Prayer this Friday.  It was planned to be a day of prayer for the Katrina Victims and relief efforts.  We need to add to that the call to pray for our nation's spiritual health and strength to reject such foolish legal challenges to the truth.
