Seems like the political arena is a wonderful place to go for any blogger – there’s always something to blog about. I like to go against the flow, and so that may be why so few actually enjoy my blog: I’m not talking about what everyone else is talking about. Oh well. And today isn’t any different.
Lately, I’ve been thinking about my focus in life. Seems that doing the will of the Lord is crowded by frustrations when I don’t see it happening the way it should – obstacles and opposition to accomplishing those things I believe God would have me and the church do. That gets me all derailed and I try to get “back on track” in my focus. Seems like the enemy’s doing what he intends.
Today, I just want to recognize that and stay positive, focused, and excited that I have today to do the “Will of Him who sent me.” Nothing else. I just want to be like Jesus, and “be about my Father’s business.” I may not be used to do any miracles, preach to a large crowd, or any such thing. But I can be used by God – even if that means God is working on the “inner” me to prepare me for something up ahead.
The “to-do” list is long, and the day is short. But there is something more important than accomplishing my “to-do’s”: people need to know they are loved. There is no greater “to-do” item than that – to love people and be sure someone knows that today.
Do you know that someone loves you? If you ever doubt, look at Jesus work on Calvary – dying for your soul, taking the full wrath of God on His shoulders so God won’t pour it out on you. Then three days later, rising from the dead to prove He is God, that He has power even over death, and to live forever with you by His Holy Spirit. That is one powerful expression of Love – and He did it for you!
