Thots On Harriet Miers

It's official - and I heard it as "breaking" news on my way in to the office this morning.  Harriet Miers has withdrawn her candidacy as a nominee to SCOTUS.  My thoughts?  Well and good.  Seems to me that we can have someone else who won't be quite as "controversial."  By that, I mean someone that at least Republicans can back.  I would expect controversy from Democrats - for they oppose everything good.  But when the Republicans are deeply divided, it is not a good sign.  Harriet Miers is probably a decent woman; she is probably a fine lawyer.  But is she the right person for the job of SCOTUS justice?  Apparently not.

One more thing.  I heard something else on the radio I'd like to pass on. "The Supreme Court of the United States is not!"  [the Supreme Court].  That means that there is a higher court, yet - the court of Heaven, and Jesus Christ sits as the SOLE Judge.  His decisions are final, unimpeachable, and always right and righteous.  He is just, and He is merciful.  Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:.  Every person must stand before Him alone, on his/her own merits, and answer the question:  Did you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior (from your sins) and Lord (over your life)? Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.  Look to Christ, my friends, and be saved (become my brethren).
