- Salvation of a sinner like me who once was an enemy of God’s – He has made me not only His friend, but His child.
- Forgiveness of my sins – I know I deserve God’s wrath, but through His Son, He has shown me great mercy. I am wretched in comparison to God’s Holiness, and He has taken care of that for me.
- Righteousness of Christ – God has imputed or counted me to be as righteous as Jesus Christ, His Son. I certainly don’t deserve that, but I’m thankful that’s how God sees me today.
- I’m in His ministry – another blessing – to be in the service of the Almighty God Himself as His spokesperson, His servant, and His army.
- Victory – eternal victory is already won and I’m on the winning side. Once I wasn’t, but now I am, and for that I am thankful.
- Family – As a Christian, I have family everywhere I go, meeting others whom God has adopted in Christ. But I also am so very thankful for my sweet and loving wife, Jane – who has not only put up with me for these 18 + years, but she has had to deal with more than any woman should. And my kids… I’m proud of each and every one of them. My life is so fulfilled because they are part of it.
The List can go on, but these are the things for which I am most thankful. They are not in order, but they are not out of order. They all rank #1. For what are you thankful today? Will you take time to stop and tell God?
