Exodus
12:7 NKJV And they shall take some of the blood and put it on
the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses where they eat it.
The saying goes, "Home is where the heart is." The human heart is the
centerpiece of God's attention. 1 Samuel
16:7 NKJV "... For the Lord does not see
as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."
(Emphasis mine.) Our hearts need the blood of Jesus applied to them. When the
Lord looks at your heart, is the blood of Jesus there?
When the blood is applied to the doorposts of our hearts, it means
that it washes what comes in from all evil. It is not a license to
sin, it is the only thing that can completely wash sin away. It is a guard
against sin. It doesn't take sin and make it good, it takes sin and washes it
away so it cannot stain what it contacts. Active application of this idea
mandates that we apply the blood to all we might think to allow into our
hearts. We need to recognize how things come into our hearts. We see things.
We hear things. We feel things. We think things. We smell and taste things.
Sin tries all avenues to move in. We must apply the blood to our whole life,
not just let it seal a piece of paper deeding us entrance to heaven when the day
requires; for doing so is to apply the blood to what is useless. It is our
hearts where belief or unbelief exist. And from our hearts, our actions stem.
So when the blood is applied to the doorpost of our hearts, it means
that it washes what comes out from all evil. Doing "Good" is something
that is very narrowly defined by Jesus. Matthew
19:17 NKJV So He said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep
the commandments." Not even Jesus would call himself "good"
unless he were God (and He IS!). Therefore, it stands to reason that "good
deeds" are "God deeds." How can we do "God deeds" unless our deeds are directly
the will of God? When God cleans the heart, He moves in and takes over. When
we give Him full control, the deeds we do are consciously done according to His
will - even when we aren't sure, but we've prayed about it and do it in faith
that this is what He wants. That is a deed washed in the blood of Jesus,
applied to our faithful heart so that the motive is as pure as the Divinely
Inspired outcome.
Oh, how sin must be put to death, washed away completely, by the blood of the
Lamb applied to the doorposts of my heart today. My home is where my heart is -
and my heart is with you, My Savior! For His Glory, Amen!
And that's "Just a Thot" for today!
