Signs of the Times

2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to Him: we ask you, brothers, 2 not to be easily upset in mind or troubled, either by a spirit or by a message or by a letter as if from us, alleging that the Day of the Lord has come. 3 Don't let anyone deceive you in any way. For that day will not come unless the apostasy comes first and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction. 4 He opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he sits in God's sanctuary, publicizing that he himself is God.

In the news today, there is an increasing attack upon Christians, their faith, and the practice of that faith, as if to say that any public policy which is useful for our society must not be also found to be Scriptural.  Any policy proposed must directly contradict Scripture, or it is not to be considered.  Support Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, or Atheists, but Christians must be set aside as second-class citizens.  Even those Christians from more liberal denominations such as John Danforth of Missouri has this week come out against those who supported the efforts to save Terri Schiavo, and he is an "ordained minister" - I believe of the Lutheran Church (or is it Episcopalian?).  He said in a recent column that standing against euthanasia, abortion, and the general right-to-life stance is really standing for "separation of church and state" and because these things have as their base the Bible, they therefore must be opposed in our government.   Don't quote me on this, because I am not quoting him.  However, the point should be clear - even our "Bible-believing" crowd is falling away from the Scriptures - as though Christ did not expect us to follow Him in our lives, just our imaginations.

We Believers are losing ground so fast it is unheard of - and the falling away means that Christ's return is sooner rather than later.  Are you ready?
