Just-A-Tho't On The Book of Life

This one may not be a controversial blog entry, but it needs saying.  Most of my readers are believers, so I hope that you appreciate this little tho't.

I was reading in the long list of genealogies of 1Chronicles again today, and the devotional thought in Bible Pathways on the passages pointed me to the idea that every name of every Jew is important to God.  How much more so, I thought, is the name of every Believer, who has accepted by faith, the blood of God's Precious Son, Jesus Christ as payment for our sins?  The Jews with their names in the Bible have their names irrevocably and eternally recorded in the lineage that brought Christ into the world to redeem you and me.  Then, in Heaven, God has another book - the Book of Life.  My name is there, and it is written in the ink of the blood of Christ, my Savior.  Is yours?  It will never be erased, and it means that I shall live as long as my name is in that book!  Blessed be the God of Heaven who considers my name to be important to Him!  I certainly don't deserve it.  May I now live up to that honor!
