Seems that the Christian world is torn in two over the role of the Christian in Politics. Of course, the liberal Left would like all Christians OUT of politics, because that would necessarily mean their agenda is advanced. But is it the best agenda for our country? Do Christians have a right to speak out concerning what is best for our (and since Christians are citizens, their) country? As citizens - of course they do. And as citizens, they have a responsibility to speak up.
But Christians are also citizens of a greater nationality - the people of God. There are more lasting and far-reaching activities (such as evangelism) which Christians should be involved with. There is a cause around every corner begging for people to speak about. How shall a Christian balance his time, energy, resources, etc. between what is momentarily right (politics) and eternally right (evangelism)?
This pastor believes that the answer lies between he and His God. Every battle King David fought was preceded with an inquiry of the Lord as to David's involvement and the tactics to be used. So, Christian, inquire of the Lord your role in the battles that seek your involvement, and do as the Lord leads. That is my advice to you. Love to hear your comments!
