Even the most talented are not always successful. Success - an elusive concept of "rising to the top." Seems to me that everyone defines success in a way that suits their ego or purposes. The opposite of success seems, though, to be rather universal - failure. Who wants to fail? Now some definitions are noble indeed. And noble success is a worthy success.
But let's talk about those that are successful - whatever the definition. They did not get there by themselves. They had teachers, cheerleaders (encouragers), and they had failures along the way. Some had assistants, helpers, even "graduate assistants" (for those whose success is in academia and science).
Today, my hat's off to those that help others. I honor those who encourage others to be all they can be. I applaud the teachers, encouragers, and coaches. To the nameless assistants who will never get any glory earth-side of life, rest assured, your reward is in the making, and it is greater than anything you've ever seen before - waiting you in heaven (if you've trusted Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord). Read 1Chr 12, and see all the helpers of the King David. These are written in God's eternal Word.
