Thots On WMD Truth

Will we ever know the truth about WMD under Saddam’s rule?

I believe so.  I believe we’ve heard the truth – but we’ve been deceived into believing lies so often that the truth is harder to believe than the fiction.  So now America – and the world – finds herself totally confused, not knowing who to trust, what story is true, or where to go from here with regards to Iraq and the Middle East.

There’s a new book out by one of Saddam’s top Generals.  It came out on the 24th of January.  It’s entitled, “Saddam's Secrets - How an Iraqi General Defied and Survived Saddam Hussein” by Georges Sada, Jim Nelson Black (the links take you to Amazon.com’s reviews of these authors).  While I’ll admit, I haven’t read the book, I will say that every review I’ve read (with the exception of one on Amazon.com) is startled by the information in the book – its candidness, details, and of course, the implications our liberal left media and politicians must face in the light this book sheds on our world.

What concerns me, though, is the ONE lone negative review on Amazon.com.  T. Bradford writes on the Amazon.com Customer Review section,
Gen. Sada alledges to have knowledge that three years of international investigations have not found, that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction. Sada shows no evidence to counter the on-site U.N. inspectors who found no evidence of a reconsituted nuclear program in Iraq nor does he address the absence of any scientists who were knowingly working on the program. Sada does not addresss the obvious, that with the U.S. increasinly intolerant of Saddam and anyone who assist, why would a Syrian regime, already on thin ice with the Bush administration, risk their very existence by hiding nuclear weapons?
(I’ve copied it directly from the website, spelling errors and all)
I find these questions, while biased (and that would reveal my own desire to trust our President, and distrust of Saddam Hussein), quite revealing and worthy of an answer.  It is questions just like these that help us to be continually confused about the truth.  I suppose that ANYONE can discredit a witness – it doesn’t take a crafty lawyer to do that.

So what is the bottom line and point of all this?  I believe that this book will contain as much truth as we can find on the matter, substantiating much of the intelligence our military and government had before the ousting of the evil dictator’s regime.  I believe that our President is as honest a man as we’ve had in office for decades – a far cry more decent than his predecessor.  I believe that, while I may not agree with several of his decisions, he is making his decisions for the good of the nation rather than the good of his personal pocket – which is why the liberal left of congress and the media oppose him so.  By not padding his personal pocket, he fails to pad theirs – and that is unacceptable in their selfish eyes.

What astounds me is the audacity of the liberal left – i.e., John Kerry, Edward Kennedy, Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, et al. – to press forward with their agendas and incredible accusations against the decent leaders of our nation while this information before the world.  Christians – you need to continue to pray for our nation, our leaders, and our world.
