Thots On America's "Freedom"

Lay Committee Acquires Papers Showing PCUSA Anticipates Major Division – this article reveals how very important doctrine and theology are. “I’m sorry” goes out to those who think it is folly and meaningless. The Love of Christ is not the only doctrine that counts. This is a story about a growing “falling away” noted in the Bible.

NBC Puts Sliced 'Veggies' on Saturday Morning Kids' TV MenuNetwork Airs VeggieTales Cartoons With Religious Content Cut Out
And so the effort by the media to remove religion from the airwaves continues. Seems to me like the word “religion” means “Christianity” for they promote their religion of everything else.

Christian Attorney: Judge Erred in Halting School Bible Giveaway – The courts are still against sharing the gospel (in any form) with children. Why is it that when a group such as the Gideons hands out Bibles it’s illegal? It’s not the state doing it. Rather, when the state prohibits it, it’s the state barring religious freedom – that of the Gideons.

I’m just wondering… does the news tell us that things are getting “better” in our country, or just the opposite?

Seems to me that the increasing opposition to Christianity, and the division within the Christian groups that stems from an opposition to Biblical Christianity reflects a decline in our country. Freedom is not the absence of restraint – nor is it free. It costs (often it costs us blood) and it isn’t freedom until we are able to recognize that there are many moral restraints to a truly free society. We are a long ways down the path to facism as a governmental policy, very similar to the form of communism the USSR used to “enjoy” – where the government has all the power, the people are the least important part of society, and faith is forbidden.
